Río Celeste 1N/2D
Day 1
We are leaving San José at 7 am. We will have a buffet style breakfast on our way to Río Celeste. At around 11 am we arrive at the Tenorio National Park; more precisely at the El Pilón Station, our accommodation for the night.
After you have arranged yourself in your room (the rooms have 2 bunk beds each; all rooms of the station have shared bathrooms), we will have lunch. If you wish, we can organize a packed lunch, which we can eat by the waterfall (we will not leave one gram of trash in the forest). We will then start our tour to the waterfall of Río Celeste.
At night we will have free time at the station, where you have the chance to exchange your experiences with fellow travelers and the park guards. Meanwhile there is always the possibility to observe tapirs. Dinner included.
Day 2
After breakfast we will hike to the lagoon and a place called “Los Teñideros” where two rivers flow into one – as the result of a chemical reaction the water turns into an incredible blue color. We are eating lunch at the station, before we return to San José.
